Cave, Egg Drop, Children's Museum

We had an egg drop competition with friends Will, Claire & Lydia. Three teams constructed protective "ships" to safely carry the uncooked eggs 3 stories down off the deck. The available supplies included dixie cups, tape and straws. Every team did great because non one egg broke!

We visited a local cave and had a great time!

sifting through sand to find nice rocks and crystals

And digging for crystals (you pay for what you find)

In the cave...

Quite impressive and beautiful!

Lorelai

Lorelai is 6 and truly a creative thinker. She draws, colors, writes almost non-stop.

Last week we found this taped to our bedroom door. I love how she signed it "yore child Lorelai."

[Dear Mom tonigit I cannot sleep can you please help me love yore child Lorelai how can I fol aslep?]

Lorelai also loves to have parties and do anything social. She decided we needed to have a Friday night sleepover with just our family. She created a tent using the slide, a chair, and a couch cushion. (That's her Hello Kitty pillow under there). Ephraim & Silas slept in the train tent to the left. Jane just ran around annoying everyone. By morning, only one person was left: the die-hard Lorelai. :)

Jane

Jane and I recently started playing Memory Match. She loves it. Jane is 3 1/2 now and will soon be a big sister. She is really fun to be around.  She loves to talk, give hugs, play with her animals and dolls, eat, and now plays games. She talks often about our new baby. Most days she wakes up and tells me, "Our new baby is coming today!" I smile and nod. She never seems to be disappointed when it doesn't happen. I wonder how she'll react when the new baby really does come as she always predicts? September can't come soon enough. :)

The County Fair
